The Beginning and The Vision

On April 4th 1994, two young ladies, Tammy Woodard and Angela Dawes came together to launch their very own beauty salon. They called it "T & A's Beauty Salon" named after their initials.

This beauty salon worked hard to master the craft of catering to clients of all creeds, learning new skills, and providing high-quality hair care and beauty services to the community.
​After over four years of blissful business together, both Tammy and Angela knew it was time to take both of their passions and visions to the next level. After much prayer and professional consultation, the two decided to venture into purchasing their own separate businesses and pushing their visions in their God-called directions.
​
Angela stayed at the same location, but revamped the image, services, and mission to fit the vision God had given her for the salon. One scripture that played an in-depth role in the reconstruction of her brand was Psalm 133:1, "I - Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in UNITY." Therefore in 1999, she renamed the salon "Unity".

Unity embraces the vision of togetherness that Angela has within the community. She has reached wide and far to master the skill of serving women and men of ALL races, religions, creeds, and ethnicities.

To date, Unity Salon and Spa has added locations to the Headquarters and continues to offer the best quality beauty services to Eastern North Carolina.
